It's about time!
A "Glee" source confirms that my beloved Glee will be tackling THRILLER by Michael Jackson for their post-Super Bowl episode. but, I must admit I'm a little annoyed that the source also says that the Jackson classic will be performed as a mash-up with another song, yet to be chosen.
I'm pretty certain ANY MJ song deserves to stand alone bitches.
But the supersized episode, which our source says will be the most expensive in Glee history and likely one of televsion's priciest episodes ever, will also feature covers of tunes by Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry.

Having been a fat person for many years, shows like Biggest Loser and Dance Your Ass Off make me ill. Here's the thing; fat people have feelings just like normal sized people. And being fat is the ONLY physical trait in our society which it is completely acceptable to discriminate. Many of us, including myself, advocate for equality based on sexual orientation and skin color. However every one loves a good fat joke. We try to not generalize about black people or Asians, but all fat people are lazy and just need more will power, right?
OK...currently stepping off soapbox.
ABC's "Obese" -- an upcoming reality show showing crazy-super-funny fat people losing weight on their very own home -- is off to a really bad start ... because we have learned one of the contestants has already been hospitalized.
We're told 25-year-old LaRhonda Darby -- one of the show's eight, morbidly obese individuals -- was rushed to the hospital Saturday in Oklahoma City for dangerous dehydration levels. She was given fluids and sent home.
According to sources, Darby had been taking a prescription diuretic -- water pills. We're told she woke up Saturday morning feeling light-headed with leg cramps ... so her sister-in-law called 911.
ABC Productions says LaRhonda's dehydration was the result of "medication prescribed for reasons unrelated to her weight loss - and that the "health and well being of our participants is our utmost concern."
Sure.
What people don't understand is that overeating and undereating are two sides of the SAME COIN. The tactics used on many of these shows and the messages these shows send are DANGEROUS. Look, I know many people in the US are dying of obesity. I get that. But why do we have to use self-abuse and self-punishment and feed the SELF-HATE that is behind becoming obese in the first place.

I LOOOOOOOVE the Gaga. Love her. She's a gawdamned genius.
Most of us who have eating disorders, and especially those of us in (imperfect) recovery can spot a fellow sufferer from ten miles away. And my beloved Gaga has an eating disorder.
My opinion.
First of all, when I check out her tweets, every other one is about her workouts. And she was RAVING about Bikram (not really) yoga the other day on Twitter. Now, I'm not saying everyone who does Bikram has an eating disorder, however I AM saying people with eating & food issues are drawn to Bikram because it is not actually yoga and it is body abuse. Those of us with food and body issues are compulsively drawn exercise that feels like punishment.
My opinion.
Second, look at her. Just a few months ago I was writing on this here blog about how thin she was getting; how I was worried about her health. And now she looks like a normal gal. Which is GREAT! But those of us with body & eating issues know that weight fluctuates A LOT due to acting out with food and exercise.
Third, many MANY immensely talented young women have food & body issues. Look at Hollywood! One of the signs of an eating disorder is that the person is an overacheiver and a perfectionist. We talk about how a person with this sort of disease & addiction can be AMAZING at so many things, yet in this one area can be so crazy and out-of-control. The perfectionism & focus helps us/them manifest tremendous art and work on the planet, and it also fuels the self-hate that feeds the eating disorder.
My opinion.
I hope I'm wrong. I really hope I'm wrong.
If not I pray she gets help. What an even better role model she could be if she got herself into recovery and shared her story.

Lt. Dan Choi, the super courageous gay solider who was fired under the policy, was there. Before they were arrested, they led a chant of "Barack Obama, silent homophobia," and offered their views to the crowd about how the administration is handling this issue. Lt. Choi was one of the ones who spoke directly to the crowd, saying:
"We have served our country valiantly, the defense of freedom and justice, now it is time for our leaders to do the same. After visiting Senator Harry Reid today, the majority leader, his staff telling us that the president is not engaged, at all, in the repeal of the most discriminatory law that bars soldiers from telling the truth. After all his rhetoric I think we must conclude that there is truth to the knowledge in homophobia of both sorts. There is a loud homophobia, those with platforms. And there is a silent homophobia of those who purport to be our friends and do nothing. Loud homophobia and silent homophobia have the same result, they must be combated and this is what we intend to do today."
Unfortunately, sources at Senator Reid's office are now denying having spoken to anyone in the group today and as we said, the 13 protestors, including Lt. Dan Choi, were arrested.
It's so painful that it has to come to this, but something must be done to prove how serious an issue this is to those who still won't vote for EQUAL RIGHTS.

I totally agree.
I think The Black Eyed Peas suck. Must every song they release be incredibly annoying?
However, will.i.am seems like a pretty cool dude. And I know love him.
will.i.am was lucky enough to have worked with Michael Jackson before the King of Pop's way too early passing last year, and recently spoke put against Sony Music for releasing an album of his previously unheard material, because he believes it to be in poor taste!
He says:
“Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are, to say that what [Michael] contributed during his life wasn’t enough. He just wasn’t any ordinary artist. He was a hands-on person. To me it’s disrespectful. There’s no honoring. Michael Jackson songs are finished when Michael says they’re finished. Maybe if I never worked with him I wouldn’t have this perspective. He was very particular about how he wanted his vocals, the reverb he used…he was that hands-on.”
There's obviously a reason that this material wasn't released in the first place, so why do it now, when the man behind it can't be around to give his approval?
I love MJ more than life itself. I still cry about his loss.
But I don't think I can support this new music.
